The effects of pepper spray are intense, but they do not cause any long term harm or damage to the person getting sprayed. The consequence of getting sprayed with pepper spray will last quite some time, about 30 minutes or so, allowing a victim to run to safety and get help.

The effects of pepper spray really could be the crucial element in a person defending themselves and getting away unharmed. Carrying a pepper spray, and knowing the effects, can allow one to feel safe and have peace of mind. It is a great self defense item to have with you all the time.
